Offline Prep

When prepping cuts for GFX, the goal is to provide a timeline and a reference that matches the timeline. The best practice is to duplicate a timeline in your project and trim out what is unneeded. We only want relevant string-outs or sections (but will take the whole cut when in doubt).

Premiere prep

1.00

When prepping Premiere timelines, use the Project Manager to package reduced projects. Please provide 24-frame handles, at minimum (96 frames if we are to play with transitions). Please provide a reference video (SAS QuickTime ProRes 422 LT) of the same timeline.

Additionally, please ensure you have a media encoder template for exporting QuickTime ProRes 422 LT at source resolution. Use that in the Project Manger and use that for the Consolidate and Transcode Preset.

Avid prep

For Avid project, please provide an AAF with the follow specs. In brief we want offline media exported with handles (24 frames for straight edits, or 96 frames if we are working on transitions). Please provide a reference video (SAS QuickTime ProRes 422 LT) of the same timeline.

VFX work

If we are to be working on VFX work that involves tracking, comping, or greenscreen work, please provide RAW camera files that match the shots needed. Simply hooking up a drive to IO server is fine for this, just please let us know what drive it is.

If the production company provided any camera notes or LUTS, please provide these as well.

Client art

We will take anything and everything you have. You never know what we might need.
